My God is In Control!!

I Cornicles 29:11-12
-Thine, O Lord is the greatness and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come of thee, and thou reighnest over all; and in thine hand is power and might and in thine hand is to make great, and to give strenght unto all.
Psalms 18:30,32
-As for God, His way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: He is a buckler to all those that trust in Him. It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect!
Psalms 115:3
-But our God is in the heavens: He hath done whatsoever He hath pleased.
Isaiah 55:8-9
-For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher then your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

My God Comforts

Psalms 23:4-Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
John 14:16-18-And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Romans 15:4-For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
II Corinthians1:3-4-Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

Perserverance

I know i already posted a quote for the day, but i found these quotes on perserverance and wanted to share them=)

"The difference between perseverance and obstinacy is
that one comes from a strong will,
and the other from a strong won't."
~Henry Ward Beecher

you get tired of doing the hard work you already did."

~Author unknown, in reference to Ecclesiastes 9:11,
"I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all."

My God is Almighty!

Genesis 17:1- And when Avram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
Job 40:2- Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct Him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
Psalms 91:1- He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Revelation 4:8- And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest no day and night, saying Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, which was and is, and is to come!
Revelation 15:3- And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb saying, great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

No matter what I am going thru, big or small, God is there for me, and I want to abide in His shadow, the shadow of the Almighty!

I Have Been Blessed!!!!

To go along with my girlie Shivangi's Post, here is the song sung by a youth group.
If you'd like to see the lyrics to this song please visit Worth The Wait here.=)

My God is All-Knowing

Job 37:16- Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of Him which is perfect in knowledge??
Romans 11:33-36- O the depth of the riches both of wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been His counselor? Or who hath first given to Him, and it shall be recompensed unto Him again? for of Him, and through Him and to Him, are all things to whom be glory for ever. Amen
Colossians 2:3- In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
I John 3:20- For if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

God has all wisdom and knowledge, not only does He know what is best for me, He knows when, where, and how everything in my life is to occur!
(its good to know somebody does!)

Till Then,

Sunday at South Haven=)

This morning the Stewarts were out of town so Mrs. Barbara Buck taught my class.
Sadly it was my last sunday in the youth group! I can't believe it!
Anyways the lesson was about "Spiritual Umbrellas" that God has put in our lives to protected us.
God is our main umbrella but beneath Him we have many others.
A) Parents
B)Pastor (and wife)
C)Teachers
D) Youth Pastor (and wife)
E)Godly Friends
F)Grandparents

If you are blessed as I am to have these godly umbrellas in your life appreciate them!
They have a boundary and we aren't safe unless we are within that boundary!
Boundaries=Protection!

Pastor and his family are on vacation so Bro. Mickey Austin preached this morning on "God's Formula for Peace"

Most of you were there so i won't get to in depth, but here are some of my favorite parts from that message.

The formula is
Being Careful for nothing + Praying and Supplicating + Being Thankful in everything + asking God = The Peace of God
(taken from James 1:8)

"Don't let your problems get between you and God, Let God get between you and your problems!"

Prayer- Me going to God with a situation and asking for intervention

Supplication-to bind yourself to others and help them take their burdens to Jesus, can't take it, but can help carry it!

"When I carry a burden, i get stronger!!"

Then tonight Bro. Fay preached on Obedience.
Once again, you were there but here are some quotes.

"Concern yourself with what you can do, not with what you can't!"

"God has wisdom and a plan far above mans, and all we have to do is OBEY!!!"

There you have it...other edifying day at South Haven.
I am so thankful for my church and all the servants that make it the great ministry it is!

The past week my dad, sister and I have been hauling wood out of the neighbors woods.
Its HARD WORK! ( but it feels really good when you get done at the end of the day and know you have accomplished something=)

I have no idea what he is doing with his eyes?!?!?!

And there you have it, this is what i did all day today=)

Till Then,

My God is Able

Daniel 3:17- If it be so, our God whom we serve is ABLE to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
Romans 4:2- And being fully persuaded, that what He had promised, He was ABLE to perform.
2 Corinthians 9:8-And God is ABLE to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
Ephesians 3:20-Now unto Him that is ABLE to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.
Jude 24- Now unto Him that is ABLE to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.
Matthew 3:9- And think not to say whithin yourselves, we have Abraham to our father; for I say unto you, that God is ABLE of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

Here are just a few verses that support the FACT that My God is Able! If you know more or want to add some on please do so in the comment (thoughts on the matter) section.

The Prodigal Son- in the Key of F

Feeling footloose and frisky, a featherbrained fellow forced his father to
fork over his farthings. Fast he flew to foreign fields and frittered his
family's fortune, feasting fabulously with floozies and faithless friends.
Flooded with flattery he financed a full-fledged fling of "funny foam" and
fast food.

Fleeced by his fellows in folly, facing famine, and feeling faintly fuzzy, he
found himself a feed-flinger in a filthy foreign farmyard. Feeling frail and
fairly famished, he fain would have filled his frame with foraged food from
the fodder fragments.

"Fooey," he figured, "my father's flunkies fare far fancier," the frazzled
fugitive fumed feverishly, facing the facts. Finally, frustrated from
failure and filled with foreboding (but following his feelings) he fled from
the filthy foreign farmyard.

Faraway, the father focused on the fretful familiar form in the field and
flew to him and fondly flung his forearms around the fatigued fugitive.
Falling at his father's feet, the fugitive floundered forlornly, "Father, I
have flunked and fruitlessly forfeited family favor."

Finally, the faithful Father, forbidding and forestalling further flinching,
frantically flagged the flunkies to fetch forth the finest fatling and fix a
feast.

Faithfully, the father's first-born was in a fertile field fixing fences
while father and fugitive were feeling festive. The foreman felt fantastic
as he flashed the fortunate news of a familiar family face that had forsaken
fatal foolishness. Forty-four feet from the farmhouse the first-born found a
farmhand fixing a fatling.

Frowning and finding fault, he found father and fumed, "Floozies and foam
from frittered family funds and you fix a feast following the fugitive's
folderol?" The first-born's fury flashed, but fussing was futile. The frugal
first-born felt it was fitting to feel "favored" for his faithfulness and
fidelity to family, father, and farm. In foolhardy fashion, he faulted the
father for failing to furnish a fatling and feast for his friends. His folly
was not in feeling fit for feast and fatling for friends; rather his flaw was
in his feeling about the fairness of the festival for the found fugitive.

His fundamental fallacy was a fixation on favoritism, not forgiveness. Any
focus on feeling "favored" will fester and friction will force the faded
facade to fall. Frankly, the father felt the frigid first-born's frugality
of forgiveness was formidable and frightful. But the father's former
faithful fortitude and fearless forbearance to forgive both fugitive and
first-born flourishes.

The farsighted father figured, "Such fidelity is fine, but what forbids
fervent festivity for the fugitive that is found? Unfurl the flags and
finery, let fun and frolic freely flow. Former failure is forgotten, folly is
forsaken. Forgiveness forms the foundation for future fortune."

Four facets of the father's fathomless fondness for faltering fugitives are:
1) Forgiveness
2) Forever faithful friendship
3) Fadeless love, and
4) A facility for forgetting flaws

Quotes from Last Nights Sermon

"Any time I spend out of God's will is WASTED TIME!"

"Time is a precious commodity, Once I use it I can't get it back!"

"Much turmoil today is a result of poor or wrong decisions yesterday"

"The biggest argument for Jesus or against Jesus is the life of a christian!"

"We are not only to be God's witnesses, but we are to be God's evidences!"

These great statements don't even scratch the surface of what a great message it was.
What i got out of the service last night is, use your time wisely and do things that count for Christ, because i don't want to look back and say i wish i had done this or that instead of this or that.

I strive daily so that someday when i look at all the things i have done i hope Christ can be satisfied with the life i've led.

The Seven Rs: the formula to keep short accounts with God

  • Recognize-See that you've sinned & are out of fellowship with God.
  • Repent-agree with God about your sin & confess it to Him.
  • Rethrone-mentally put Christ back in the center of your life, because sin pushes Him out.
  • Replace-you must put something in place of the sin or it comes right back.
  • Rejoice-Stop and realize that our fellowship with God is unbelievably sweet!
  • Remember-to keep these good thoughts in mind as we move thru each day.
  • Repeat-repeat this process again and again as often as necessary.

We all struggle to stay constantly right with God...we are all sinners and must get right with Him on a daily basis. Dr. Gibb's message last week on getting clean has really stuck with me and this is something that has helped me that i thought i'd share!

I Have Been Blessed!!!!

THE ROOM

In that place between wakefulness and dreams, I found myself in the room.
There were no distinguishing features except for the one wall covered with small index card files. They were like the ones in libraries that list titles by author or subject in alphabetical order. But these files, which stretched from floor to ceiling and seemingly endless in either direction, had very different headings. As I drew near the wall of files, the first to
catch my attention was one that read "Girls I have liked." I opened it and began flipping through the cards. I quickly shut it, shocked to realize that I recognized the names written on each one. And then without being told, I knew exactly where I was.

This lifeless room with its small files was a crude catalog system for my life. Here were written the actions of my every moment, big and small, in a detail my memory couldn't match. A sense of wonder and curiosity, coupled with horror, stirred within me as I began randomly opening files and exploring their content. Some brought joy and sweet memories; others a sense of shame and regret so intense that I would look over my shoulder to see if anyone was watching.

A file named "Friends" was next to one marked "Friends I have betrayed." The titles ranged from the mundane to the outright weird "Books I Have Read," "Lies I Have Told," "Comfort I have Given," "Jokes I Have Laughed at." Some
were almost hilarious in their exactness: "Things I've yelled at my brothers." Others I couldn't laugh at: "Things I Have Done in My Anger", "Things I Have Muttered Under My Breath at My Parents." I never ceased to be surprised by the contents.

Often there were many more cards than I expected. Sometimes fewer than I hoped. I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of the life I had lived. Could it be possible that I had the time in my years to fill each of these thousands or even millions of cards? But each card confirmed this truth.
Each was written in my own handwriting. Each signed with my signature.

When I pulled out the file marked "TV Shows I have watched", I realized the files grew to contain their contents. The cards were packed tightly, and yet after two or three yards, I hadn't found the end of the file. I shut it, shamed, not so much by the quality of shows but more by the vast time I knew that file represented.

When I came to a file marked "Lustful Thoughts," I felt a chill run through my body. I pulled the file out only an inch, not willing to test its size and drew out a card. I shuddered at its detailed content.

I felt sick to think that such a moment had been recorded. An almost animal rage broke on me. One thought dominated my mind: No one must ever see these cards! No one must ever see this room! I have to destroy them!" In insane frenzy I yanked the file out. Its size didn't matter now. I had to empty it
and burn the cards. But as I took it at one end and began pounding it on the floor, I could not dislodge a single card. I became desperate and pulled out a card, only to find it as strong as steel when I tried to tear it.

Defeated and utterly helpless, I returned the file to its slot. Leaning my forehead against the wall, I let out a long, self-pitying sigh.

And then I saw it. The title bore "People I Have Shared the Gospel With." The handle was brighter than those around it, newer, almost unused. I pulled on its handle and a small box not more than three inches long fell into my hands. I could count the cards it contained on one hand.

And then the tears came. I began to weep. Sobs so deep that they hurt. They started in my stomach and shook through me. I fell on my knees and cried. I cried out of shame, from the overwhelming shame of it all. The rows of file shelves swirled in my tear-filled eyes. No one must ever, ever know of this
room. I must lock it up and hide the key. But then as I pushed away the tears, I saw Him.

No, please not Him. Not here. Oh, anyone but Jesus. I watched helplessly as He began to open the files and read the cards. I couldn't bear to watch His response. And in the moments I could bring myself to look at His face, I saw
a sorrow deeper than my own.

He seemed to intuitively go to the worst boxes. Why did He have to read every one? Finally He turned and looked at me from across the room. He looked at me with pity in His eyes. But this was a pity that didn't anger me. I dropped my head, covered my face with my hands and began to cry again.
He walked over and put His arm around me. He could have said so many things. But He didn't say a word. He just cried with me.

Then He got up and walked back to the wall of files. Starting at one end of the room, He took out a file and, one by one, began to sign His name over mine on each card. "No!" I shouted rushing to Him. All I could find to say was "No, no," as I pulled the card from Him. His name shouldn't be on these cards. But there it was, written in red so rich, so dark, so alive. The name
of Jesus covered mine. It was written with His blood. He gently took the card back. He smiled a sad smile and began to sign the cards. I don't think I'll ever understand how He did it so quickly, but the next instant it seemed I heard Him close the last file and walk back to my side.

He placed His hand on my shoulder and said, "It is finished." I stood up, and He led me out of the room. There was no lock on its door. There were still cards to be written.
